Update on the process
Just a quick update on our process. I sent a packet of documents to our lovely attorney in EE. It consisted of 2 legal declarations, 2 medical checks, 2 psych forms, 2 POA docs and 2 state police clearances. All current and notarized, certified and with two apostle seals each. I sent it last Friday and according to FEDEX is is being processed but it is in the country. It was due to be delivered today so maybe tomorrow. I also sent off our I 800 applications and a fee and 4 supporting documents to Homeland security Hague Adoption division. I sent that two weeks ago and last night at 2:02 AM I got a txt that it is being forwarded on to another center for approval. It has not been approved it has just been received and they have not yet cashed the check. So from what I hear the I800 is quicker than the I800a. I will keep you posted. Now that that is done... we wait. My prayer is that we will get an adoption friendly judge who will not ask for any additional information and we will get a court date (after the I800 provisional approval has been sent to the embassy... Blah blah). as soon as possible. This is usually 3 months after the parent visits the child/ren. Once we get a court date and get the adoption judge ment there is a 7 day appeal time and then the littles are officially Bakers. After court there is some more paper work to be done in filing and picking up court orders and birth certificates and such all of which is handled by the adoption attorney (Toni) and then, THEN I get the green light and the dates to travel to actually pick the children up! Exciting Stuff!
