My Old Kentucky Home
Ok so last fall we decided to repaint the masonry around the house and we bought the paint and Mike even got so far as to pressure wash the old paint. Then as usual winter arrived. We just never got the actual painting done... We tried but it turned too cold and that was that. So it really bugged me. The house looked bad. I mean its one thing if your living room is a mess or needs painting but this was the FRONT of the house! People driving by could see it! I didn't decorate the outside last Christmas because I didn't want to call attention to the house. Anyway, so we finally got the house painted and it looks so good! We still have to do some work on the side of the house but the front is so nice and fresh! I have a few flowers planted and the grass so SO lovely and green! We still have some projects to do in the back yard, which is where we play most. I want to get at least one special needs swing for the swing set. We want the kind that will hold the child even if they don't hold on. We want to move the swing set and I want to mulch a large area around the swing and keep all our yard toys in that one area. Mike will like that too! As it is right now it takes him as long to get the yard ready to mow as it does to actually mow! I also made my Mom a brick paver walk way up to her door. It is her wheelchair runway. It had to be done just a certain way and I finally figured out how to do it so that water would not pool and it couldn't be too thick or the door wouldn't open and it has to taper into the ground so her chair could get onto it. I am working on a brick flower bed by her door as well. Today it is raining so no yard work. But I CAN shop around online for a new swing!
