My Surprise!

Ok, I can't believe I never posted about this!  Somehow it just occurred to me that this is SO relevant to our adoptions and our life that to NOT post this is just wrong.  While I was on my trip to Bulgaria Mike decided to surprise me.  We are converting what is now our bedroom to the nursery. Nursery is not really the right word but you get what I am saying. The room for small or new children who can't for whatever reason have a bed on the second story of our house.  It is a larger room and will have 1 crib, 1 toddler bed and 1 twin bed in it. It will also serve as a place for the kids to hang and watch VHS movies. Yep my collection of Disney movies is mostly VHS so we deal with it.  We had talked about putting the large closet in there for clothes and honestly I didn't think it would happen any time soon but while I was gone He framed it up! It still needs some tape and mudding and it needs shelves and bars but here it is!  YAAAA Mike!  So as soon as the tape and mud is done I can start the painting process. Whoo hoo!  After that I can start cramming stuff in there...
So remember I posted about finding the Step 2 castle dreams bed for Talia?  Well it turns out that she will have no clue (just yet) of what the significance is to actually sleeping in a castle bed... (It must mean you are a princess silly...) But as a matter of fact there is a certain someone in this house who knows EXACTLY that very fact.  So today I surprised her by setting the Castle bed up for her.  Yes she is almost 5 and will probably not get 2 years out of it but for now she is in Princess Heaven!  Notice that the pillows and quilt already in use have princesses on them!  She actually sleeps curled in a little ball so she may fit in this bed for quite some time but we shall see.  I wish I could post the picture of her with an absolutely RADIANT smile on her face when she saw it! But you will have to settle for this one of just the bed.
Now, don't go feeling bad for Talia because I found out that she is used to sleeping with her favorite caregiver.  Yep, and the caregiver Eva also said for a while at least to sleep with Talia because she will wake up and start patting the bed looking for her.  I think that is SO SWEET.  So for the first chapter in our lives together Talia will sleep at least part of the night with Mama!  So the twin bed will be her bed.
Tobias will sleep at least at first in the room with us.  When Zachary and A were little they shared a room and Zachary was notorious for waking A up in the night to chat.  I could hear him on the baby monitor whispering loudly A... A.... and then in the morning she would have a bunch of toys in her crib that she could not have gotten herself...  So for safety and so that Tobias can get some sleep, he will be in the 'nursery' in a very cool blue race car bed.  Plus the bathroom is closer as well and I wouldn't want Toby to have to go up and down the steps so much.
