Chosen

Naomi has been chosen. She has been chosen for us. She is like millions of other orphans out there waiting and in that way she is typical and one of many. In another way she is not typical. She is very special. Every child deserves to be cherished for who they are. Every child should have someone who is looking out for them. Someone who really takes the time to get to know them and what they like and don't like. What they need and don't need. Someone who wants only the best for them. When Patience was very small I noticed that every time Elmo would pop onto the TV screen she would wiggle and get excited and don't you know that Mommy and Daddy made sure she had plenty of Elmo toys just because she liked him. Every child needs someone who is looking ahead and knows that it is going to be a cold night so sox and t-shirt go under the footie sleeper plus an extra blanket. Thus far in her life Naomi has not had this... It reminds me of the scripture Jeremiah 29:11
"For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end." Just like God is thinking precious thoughts of the good he intends for his children (and those to come) I am thinking precious thoughts of the good I intend for this child. It is humbling to know how much God cares for each of us even when we are totally unaware of it. She has been chosen.
