Ok Anti Inflammatory diet

Mike and I started the anti inflammatory diet back in early January.  Its is not really a weight loss diet although we did lose weight on it. It is more for getting things back in balance and cleaning out the body and getting inflammation of the digestive tract to go down and restore health from the inside out.  We follow the plan of Dr. Asa Andrews. Mike is a fan because he has heard him teach on the radio so we got  his book (I cant remember the name of the book... and we loaned the book to Mikes parents.).  I don't have many health issues.  My body runs pretty smoothly but I am responsible to take care of it, and an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.  I actually DID get some pretty amazing results on the diet!  My feet stopped swelling.  I never had problematic swelling but my feet and ankles would puff a bit at night. Little spider vein thingys went away.  I have never suffered much at all with tummy issues but I am telling you things like that got better! I am not old and I have never had much trouble with aches and pains but on the diet I noticed a change in those areas. I felt good and slept good, well I slept better because sleep is also not really an issue with me. One of the challenges is that you need to drink a lot of water. Dr. Andrews says to drink one half of your actual body weight in ounces of pure water every day. So if you weigh say 200 lbs and half of that is 100. So you drink 100 oz. a day.  Its a LOT of water.  I have to really push myself to get the water in. I really tried but I don't think I ever did get the whole amount in one day.You also can't have caffeine, sugar and pretty much all bread is excluded.  It is challenging but you start to feel so good that it is worth it. So I am officially back on the diet until this trip.  I do NOT want to have to be on a plane with tummy issues. That just seems like about the worst thing ever! I actually don't know what my actual flight time will be because I will cross several time zones and I could figure it up but I think I will just time it as I go. I do know how long each layover is though.  I got my tickets through GOLDEN RULE travel and YES! they got me a great deal! (I did price shop btw!) But the best thing is the layover times are much better than what I was seeing while shopping.  All my layovers are 3-4 hours as compared to 8 plus hours on some flights.  I seriously don't want to be wandering around in some airport (any airport) for 8 plus hours! On the flip side to that I need a little time to figure out at each stop where to go next. I am an inexperienced traveler so these times are perfect! I also want to lose a few pounds before I fly.  I really don't want to be all bloated and wedged into my seat with things going to sleep from lack of circulation! Not my idea of a fun trip.  Now I am off to drink water! Water Water Water!
